Warriors Win Senior Day Meet Against Lock Haven

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — In their last meet before the PSAC Championships, the ESU women's swimming team defeated Lock haven, 96-69, at home on Senior Day.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Warriors won eight of the 10 total events, beginning with the 200-yard medley relay. Emily McMenamin, Tamara Engler, Mikayla Potts, and Anna Stauffer picked up 11 points with a 1:56.16 final time, 15 seconds ahead of Lock Haven's relay team.
  • McMenamin got her second win of the day in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing first with a time of 2:04.81.
  • Senior Vera Renshof had a dominant day in the pool, winning her first event in the 50-yard freestyle. Renshof secured nine points for ESU with a 24.79 first-place finish.
  • In the first event of the second half of the meet, Emily Gambler won the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 1:02.81.
  • Renshof's second win came in the 100-yard freestyle, recording a time of 53.61 for first place. Her teammate, Anique Hazebroek, finished just behind her with a time of 56.09, scoring 13 total points for ESU between the two.
  • Coming down the stretch, Mikayla Potts helped ESU begin to put the meet away, adding another win to the Warriors' day with a 1:03.50 finish in the 100-yard backstroke.
  • In the last individual event of the meet, Tamara Engler won the 100-yard breaststroke for ESU. Engler finished with a time of 1:08.14.
  • Wrapping up the scored events of the meet, ESU's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kennedy Leveto, Mia Estep, Sam Grayauskie, and Renshof, ESU's four seniors honored before the meet, got the last win of the day for the Warriors. The group recorded a time of 1:46.15.
  • In  the time trials recorded after the 200-yard freestyle relay, ESU had two swimmers record PSAC-qualifying times. Anna Stauffer, who already punched her ticket to the meet, and Estep both finished under the qualifying time in the 200-yard breaststroke with 2:35.16 and 2:35.56, respectively.

The Warriors will prepare for the PSAC Championships, a four-day meet which begins on Wednesday, Feb. 18, in York, Pa.
