LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- East Stroudsburg University softball's Sarah Davenport was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Warriors began their season in Florida, finishing the trip with a 2-4 record while taking on two nationally ranked opponents.
Davenport opened the season with a standout performance, as she struck out 12 and allowed just three hits in a 1-0 victory over Bentley on Feb. 6.
On Feb. 7 against No. 5 Saginaw Valley, Davenport recorded six strikeouts, allowed three hits, and gave up one run in a 1-0 loss.
In her final outing in Florida, Davenport tallied five strikeouts while allowing four hits and one run against Nova Southeastern University on Feb. 8.
Across 20 innings pitched, she totaled 23 strikeouts, gave up just 10 hits and two runs, and posted a 0.70 ERA. This marks her ninth weekly PSAC award of her career.
