Swimming Wraps Up PSAC Championships with Five All-PSAC Finishes

YORK, Pa. — The ESU women's swimming team closed out the 2026 PSAC Championships with an eighth-place finish, with five All-PSAC performances.

DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Anique Hazebroek got off to a great start, earning All-PSAC twice on the first day. In her first event, Hazebroek finished in third place in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:21.94, over seven seconds quicker than the fourth-place finisher. The performance broke her own record, which also stood as the school record, and qualified as a NCAA B-Cut time.
  • In the final event of the second session on day one, Hazebroek led a relay team of her, Mikayla Potts, Anna Stauffer, and Vera Renshof in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The group finished with a time of 7:40.83, earning 54 points for ESU while breaking the program record.
  • Renshof and Stauffer also scored for ESU in individual events as well. Renshof made the A-Final in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing eighth with a time of 23.97 for 22 points. In the B-Final of the same event, Stauffer's time of 24.35 earned 16th place and 11 more points.

DAY TWO HIGHLIGHTS
  • ESU's second day was highlighted by senior Vera Renshof in the 200-yard freestyle. Renshof captured the title in the 200-yard for the second consecutive year, becoming the first Warrior to win back-to-back races at the PSAC Championships since Karen Linck in the 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly in 1977-78. Renshof's time of 1:51.61 was nearly two seconds faster than her preliminary round time and scored 32 points for ESU.
  • In the same event, Anique Hazebroek finished fourth with a time of 1:52.43 for another 26 points. Both Renshof's and Hazebroek's times made the NCAA B Cut.
  • In the B-Final of the event, Anna Stauffer finished 13th, recording a time of 1:55.98 for 14 points.
  • The Warriors' 400-yard medley relay team of Chelsea Chiu, Tamara Engler, Hazebroek, and Renshof finished in seventh place with a time of 3:57.05. The group's effort set a new school record, beating the previous mark of 3:57.16 set in 2013. 
  • Mikayla Potts qualified for the C-Finals of the 100-yard butterfly, earning 23rd at the meet after a finish of 1:00.42.
  • ESU's team of Potts, Sam Grayauskie, Avah Kling, and Stauffer scored 34 points for the Warriors in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team added on 34 points to the Warriors' total, as they finished the first half of the meet with the seventh-most points at 268.

DAY THREE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Anique Hazebroek continued her outstanding performance at the PSAC Championships with another All-PSAC finish in the 500-yard freestyle on Friday evening. Hazebroek came in second place with a time of 4:59.66. Already holding the school record in the event after setting it earlier in the season, Hazebroek improved her mark by .09 seconds.
  • Anna Stauffer competed in the B-Final of the event, earning 13th place. Stauffer recorded a time of 5:14.11.
  • Tamara Engler started the day with a record-breaking performance in the preliminary race of the 100-yard breaststroke, clearing a 13-year-old record. Engler finished in 1:05.97 to qualify for the A-Finals, finishing in eighth place.
  • ESU's 200-Yard Medley Relay team of Chelsea Chiu, Engler, Kennedy Leveto, and Vera Renshof earned eighth place, finishing with a time of 1:48.56.

DAY FOUR HIGHLIGHTS
  • Anique Hazebroek was ESU's top performer of the meet, finishing with four All-PSAC performances. Hazebroek wrapped up her weekend with a third-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle, recording a time of 17:21.95.
  • Though narrowly missing out on All-PSAC in the 100-yard freestyle, Vera Renshof still broke the program record with her fourth-place finish. Renshof finished with a time of 50.99.
  • The Warriors qualified two other swimmers for the finals in the same event, as Anna Stauffer made the B-Finals, and Mikayla Potts made the C-Finals. Stauffer came in 15th with a time of  53.29, and Potts was 24th with a time of 55.10.
  • Tamara Engler wrapped up the individual events for ESU, finishing 15th in the 200-yard breaststroke. Engler recorded a time of 2:28.58 in the B-Finals.
  • In the final event of the meet, the Warriors finished fifth in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Hazebroek, Potts, Stauffer, and Renshof combined for a time of 3:31.67.

TEAM SCORE
As a team, ESU finished with 504 points, good for eighth in the conference.
