Men's Track and Field Earn Eight First Place Finishes at DeSchriver Invitational

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team won eight events and added five more PSAC qualifying marks at the 26th Annual DeSchriver Invitational on Sunday. 

Track Events 

Miguel Charlery claimed first place in the 55m and Nico Gasque followed in second. Charlery crossed the line in 6.46, moving him into fifth place on the program's all time list, while Gasque's 6.51 ties him for sixth.

In the 55m hurdles, Raqeeb Somoye took first place with a PSAC qualifying time of 7.64, tying for the fourth fastest mark in program history.

Gabriel Tsayo placed third in the 55m finals with an 8.22 time, while Justin Walters placed second in the 800m with a time of 2:16.50. 

In the 5000m, both Landon Boyle and Matthew McNair ran automatic PSAC qualifying times. Boyle placed first (15:20.00) and McNair finished second (15:27.80), while Ben Pentz placed third, Evan Wooby placed fourth, and Jack Becker placed seventh. 

ESU's distance medley relay consisting of Ethan Willard, Joseph Roth, Lucas Thaler, and Aiden Voth finished second with a time of 11:05.24. 

Field Events 

In the high jump, ESU claimed the top five spots. Jalen Cook's best jump of 2.08m (6-9 3.4) moves him to sixth all time in program history. Kamoni Smith-Johnson took second (2.03m, 6-7 ¾), Peter Stanislavsky placed third (2.03m, 6-7 ¾), Jaden Johnson placed fourth (1.83m, 6-0), and Albert Morton placed fifth (1.83m, 6-0). 

Chris Costa placed second in the pole vault (4.45m, 14-7 ¼), Luke Aiello placed fourth (3.85m, 12-7 ½), and Gabriel Yacovone placed fifth (3.55m, 11-7 ¾). 

In the long jump, Daniel Smith and Nasir Heard earned automatic PSAC qualifying marks. Smith placed first (7.05m, 23-1 ¾) and Heard placed third (6.80m, 22-3 ¾), while Stanislavsky placed fourth, Morton placed fifth, and Roth placed sixth. 

Jaden Johnson placed first in the triple jump, with his best jump of 13.97m (45-10) coming on his final try. 

Anthony Voto placed first in both the shot put and weight throw, while Jalen Gaymon placed second in the shot put and third in the weight throw.
