FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The No. 15 East Stroudsburg University softball team split a doubleheader against Nova Southeastern on Sunday to close out its Florida trip.
Game 1
Tulana Mingin and Delaney Ridgell each went 2 for 3 at the plate, while Marissa Perez and Gigi DeMito added hits for the Warriors.
In the first, Mingin singled to shortstop and scored on Ridgell's home run to left field. In the bottom of the inning, the Sharks tied the game on two hits, while Sarah Davenport managed to leave three runners stranded.
DeMito's second hit came in the second inning on a double to left center, while Mingin recorded another single up the middle in the third. In the bottom of the seventh, the Sharks walked off with a solo home run to take the first game 3-2.
Game 2
The Warriors bounced back in the second game, collecting hits from nine different players while scoring five runs in a 5-2 win. Tessa Guenette (W, 1–1) allowed just two runs on four hits.
In the top of the second inning, the Warriors scored three runs on one hit and four NSU errors. ESU extended the lead to 5-0 with runs from Megan Chroniger and Kaitlynn Colangelo in the third. Chroniger doubled to right center, stole third, then later scored on Colangelo's single to right field. Colangelo crossed the plate on an RBI single from Maddy Pritchard.
In the sixth, the Sharks doubled down the left field line and scored with a home run to left field.
