EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg University women's basketball team is locked in as the three seed in the PSAC East and will host a first-round matchup against the sixth-seeded Millersville Marauders on Monday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m. inside Koehler Fieldhouse.

EAST STROUDSBURG NOTES        

  • The Warriors clinched a home game in the first round of the PSAC Tournament as the three seed in the eastern division.  
  • The ESU women's basketball team enters the matchup 17-11 overall and 12-9 in conference action.         
  • Most recently, the Warriors closed out the regular season with a road win over West Chester, 59-55.
  • Consecutive starters for the Warriors have been Lacie KringeAvery WhiteBrie Droege, and Caitlin Marten.        
  • Against PSAC opponents, the Warriors average 67.0 PPG, 36.2 RPG, 14.0 APG, 9.7 SPG, and have shot 41.7% from the field.    
  • ESU has been most productive after halftime, averaging 34.8 points in the second half compared to 30.8 in the opening half. Opponent production has been highest in the fourth quarter, where the Warriors allow 17.6 points per game.    
  • Brie Droege has scored double-digits 25 times this season, while both Lacie Kringe and Avery White have combined 35 times. 
  • Brie paces the Warriors with 16.0 points per game, ranking her seventh in the PSAC in PPG. She has led the team in scoring 15 times this season and five times in rebounds.      
  • Brie has been an efficient scorer for the Warriors, making 45.9% of her shot attempts from the field. That figure is the 10th best in the conference. She also ranks sixth in free throw percentage, making 70 of 80 attempts.         
  • The Warriors are fourth in the PSAC in turnover margin (+2.82) and sixth in steals per game (10.18).         
  • Caitlin Marten grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds against Shepherd and has led the team in rebounds 10 times. She leads the team in rebounds per game, averaging 5.7 per game, ranking 24th in the conference. 
  • Brie Droege ranks second on the team with 5.2 rebounds per game, while both Lacie Kringe and Brooke Droege average above 4.5 boards per game.    
  • White ranks second on the team in scoring with 11.9 points per game. She has scored at least 15 points in 10 games this season, and 20 or more in three games.     
  • The Warriors are 9-1 when they score 70+ points, but 3-7 when their opponents score above 70 points.   
  • Devine, Kringe, and White rank 11th, 14th, and 15th, respectively, in assists per game.  

PSAC TOURNAMENT

  • This will be the fourth consecutive year the Warriors have clinched a spot in the PSAC Tournament, while their last win came in 2020 during the quarterfinal round.  
  • Last season, the Warriors faced Bloomsburg in the first round but fell in a nail-biter, 60-57. 
  • In both 2023 and 2024, the Warriors faced the Marauders, however the Marauders took both games. 
  • The winner of Monday night's game advances to face No. 2 Indiana (Pa.) in the PSAC quarterfinals on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. 

MILLERSVILLE NOTES      

  • Millersville enters the matchup with a 12-15 overall record and an 8-13 mark in conference play.   
  • The Marauders are currently on a six-game losing streak, with their last win coming against Bloomsburg on Jan. 24. 
  • The Marauders are averaging 63.1 PPG, 38.3 RPG, 12.7 APG, 9.3 SPG, and are shooting 41.2% from the field.     
  • The Marauders rank 12th in the PSAC in scoring offense and 10th in scoring defense, allowing 67.0 PPG to their opponents.   
  • They rank third in the PSAC in combined rebounds per game (40.5) and are second in defensive rebounds per game (28.4).    
  • Consistent starters have been Kali March, Makiah Shaw, Brenna Ortwein, and Sophia Elstone. 
  • Millersville has two players that rank in the conference's top 25 in rebounds per game. Bryn Zentner ranks 10th (7.1) and Kelly Cleaver ranks 19th (6.1).  
  • Millersville leads the league in blocked shots per game, averaging 5.22 and have totaled 141 on the season. The Marauders have three players that rank in the top 25 in blocks per game. Kelly Cleaver ranks second (2.0), Morgan Mahoney ranks sixth (1.4), and Bryn Zentner ranks 17th (0.8). 
  • In the PSAC, Daniella Ranieli ranks 19th in points per game, averaging 13.3. 
  • Cleaver was named the PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week on Jan. 26 and Feb. 9.  

SERIES HISTORY      

  • ESU is 35-63 against Millersville in all-time meetings and 23-26 when playing at home.  
  • The Warriors are 3-2 in the past five meetings and 4-6 in the past 10. 
  • The Warriors split the regular season, falling to the Marauders in the PSAC East opener, but bounced back for the second game. 
  • The Warriors rolled to an 81-54 victory during the teams last meeting on Jan. 31 inside Koehler Fieldhouse. 
  • ESU went into the half ahead 30-22, then outscored Millersville 51-32 in the second half. Avery White led the floor with 19 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Brooke Droege followed with 16 points, four steals, eight rebounds, and an assist. Lacie Kringe added 14 points while Brie Droege added nine points, six rebounds, and three steals. Emma Thornton and Jess Devine combined for seven rebounds and six assists. Skylar Soltis grabbed eight rebounds, including seven that were offensive.
