LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- East Stroudsburg University softball's Megan Chroniger was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The freshman from Prince Frederick, Md. earned her first career PSAC weekly honor after helping lead the Warriors to a 3-1 record last week. ESU split with Kutztown on Tuesday before sweeping Millersville on Friday.
Against Kutztown, Chroniger went 3-for-5 at the plate with two triples, two RBI, and two runs scored. She also scored the lone run in game one to secure a 1-0 victory for ESU.
In Friday's sweep of Millersville, she went 4-for-6 with three runs scored, one double, two home runs, and three RBI. In game one, her two-run homer put the Warriors on the board, and her second home run of the day extended ESU's lead to 4-2 in game two.
Over the four-game stretch, Chroniger tallied seven hits while batting .636, adding one double, two triples, and two home runs. She also batted in five, scored five runs, stole one base, and finished with five putouts defensively.
