LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- East Stroudsburg University softball's Sarah Davenport was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Pitcher of the Week after a standout performance this weekend, the league announced Monday afternoon.
The ESU softball team went 3-1 this past weekend against conference rivals Shippensburg and Shepherd.
The Warriors split with the Raiders on Friday, taking game one 2-1 in nine innings. Davenport struck out nine, allowed four hits, and gave up one run.
On Saturday, the Warriors shutout and swept the Rams, earning a 9-0 run-rule win in five innings before taking game two, 1-0.
In game one against Shepherd, Davenport tossed her third career perfect game and the program's fourth, striking out 12 of the 15 batters she faced. In game two, she added six strikeouts while allowing just two hits.
Across three games, she totaled 27 strikeouts, allowed six hits and one run over 21.0 innings, posted a 0.33 ERA, and improved to 14-6 on the season. The honor marks her 11th career PSAC weekly award and is the third of the season.
