LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- East Stroudsburg University women's track and field athlete Shannon Harnett was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Harnett earned the honor following her record-breaking performance at Shippensburg University's Mid-Week Bonanza on Thursday, winning both the high jump and the triple jump. Harnett won the high jump after clearing 1.74m (5 feet, 8 ½ inches). On her final attempt in the triple jump, Harnett delivered a record-breaking jump of 12.40m (40 feet, 8 ¼ inches), which broke her previous school record of 39 feet, 9 ¾ inches she set in 2025.
Her mark in the high jump ranks second in both the conference and the region and is fifth in Division II. In the triple jump, her mark leads the conference, is tied for first in the region, and is tied for seventh nationally. This honor is her second of the outdoor season and is the fourth weekly honor of her career.
