Kauffman, Barakos-Yoder Headline Award Winners; Seven Warriors Selected To All-PSAC Teams

4/29/2026 2:30:00 PM

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — After a 17-0 regular season, the ESU women's lacrosse team earned plenty of hardware with major awards and all-conference selections, as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) revealed its All-PSAC teams Wednesday afternoon. Taking home major award honors were sophomore attacker Sadie Kauffman and Head Coach Xeni Barakos-Yoder, while Ariana Tucci, Lauren Hallman, Molly Atwell, Abby Simonetti, Jolee Roth, and Paige Moreland were also named to All-PSAC East teams.

Kauffman, last year's PSAC East Freshman of the Year, was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Year after she finished the season as the conference leader in scoring. Now with 89 goals and 30 assists for 119 points, the second-most goals and points in all of Division II, she's also second in the conference with 131 draw controls. Kauffman set the program record with five PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors this season, bringing her to nine in her career, while also being named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and USA Lacrosse Magazine Division II Offensive Player of the Week four total times this season, earning recognition from each organization twice on four separate occasions. Kauffman's been on a record-setting pace her first two seasons, already in second place in program history for career goals and fourth in career points. With the award, she becomes the sixth Warrior to be named the top player in the PSAC East, joining Emily Mitarotonda, who won it twice, Emma Rufolo, Molly O'Hara, and Kristin Restivo.

Barakos-Yoder became a three-time PSAC East Coach of the Year with the announcement, having previously won the award in her first two seasons. With a 148-42 record as head coach, the Warriors have a winning percentage of .779 with her at the helm. ESU completed its first undefeated regular season in program history, as Barkaos-Yoder's teams have finished at least third in the PSAC East every season but her first as head coach. This also marks the sixth time ESU has had the PSAC East Coach of the Year, with Jane Koeniges, Lynne Elphick, and Sandy Miller earning the honor once each.

Joining Kauffman on the First Team are Tucci, Hallman, Atwell, and Simonetti. Tucci is the newest addition to an All-PSAC East First Team, as the other four were ESU's honorees last year as well. The junior has been ESU's second-leading scorer all season, putting up 61 goals and 26 assists for 87 points, the 9th-most points in a season in program history. Tucci is third in the conference in total points, averaging 4.8 PPG with 12 hat tricks in 18 games.

Hallman is one of two ESU seniors to be named to an All-PSAC East team, earning First Team honors in her final two seasons. After scoring 29 goals in her first two seasons combined, she broke out for 38 last year and improved on that performance with 43 goals this season. Hallman posted a shooting percentage of .606 and is currently tied for 13th in program history with 137 goals, just one shy of entering the top 10.

Atwell stepped up as one of the top defenders in the conference last season, making the All-PSAC East First Team and being named a Third-Team Preseason All-American by USA Lacrosse before this year. She makes the second All-PSAC East First Team appearance of her career this season after spearheading one of the best defensive units in the country, leading a group that finished with the largest average scoring margin of 12.2 GPG and allowed the eighth-fewest goals per game with 6.7.

Simonetti continued her dominant career at ESU with her third All-PSAC Team honor in as many seasons, making the First Team in consecutive years. The graduate student goalkeeper is the Division II leader in save percentage, making 106 saves for a .609 SV%. Alongside Kauffman, she also made program history with her PSAC East Athlete of the Week awards, as she and the attacker were the first pair of Warriors to both be named PSAC East Athletes of the Week in the same consecutive weeks earlier in the season. Additionally, with her third award of the season, she earned her sixth PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week honor of her career, putting herself in sole possession of the most weekly defensive awards from the conference in program history.

ESU's top two facilitators both earned PSAC East Second Team honors, as Roth and Moreland rounded out the Warriors' all-conference selections. Roth is quickly approaching the career record for assists, just seven shy with 107 through her four seasons. One of the best passers in the conference, she recorded seven- and six-assist games this season against Adelphi and Bloomsburg. This is the first All-PSAC selection for the senior, who's having her best season to date with 30 goals and 46 assists, which are tied for the most assists in the PSAC.

Moreland is right behind her with 45 assists this season to go along with 31 goals. She and Roth both rank inside the top five for the most assists in a season in program history, as Moreland also tied the program record for most points in one game against Adelphi with 11. Through her first two seasons with 17 goals and 30 assists combined, she's enjoyed a breakout year with 76 total points while boasting a shooting percentage of .674, the best on the team.

ESU's seven All-PSAC selections match last year's total, which is the most for the Warriors since the conference switched to only naming two All-PSAC teams for each division. Additionally, the five All-PSAC First Team honorees are the most for the Warriors in program history. They have had four players make the First Team four times in 2024, 2022, 2021, and 2019.
