PREVIEW: Warriors Set for Fourth Consecutive NCAA Atlantic Regional Appearance as Host, Ticket Information

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- For the fourth consecutive season, the East Stroudsburg University softball team was selected to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division II Softball Tournament. ESU earned the second seed in the Atlantic Region and will host a four-team, double-elimination tournament this weekend in one of two, four-team regional pods. The Warriors will face seventh-seeded Fairmont State in the first round on Thursday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Creekview Park.

East Stroudsburg Notes 

  • The Warriors enter the Atlantic Region Tournament with a 36-19 overall record after earning runner-up honors at the 2026 PSAC Softball Championship.
  • In the PSAC, ESU ranks sixth in runs scored (268), sixth in hits (414), second in triples (18), sixth in home runs (41), eighth in RBIs (239), fourth in putouts (1,094), fourth in fielding percentage (.966), and third in stolen bases (80-of-100). 
  • In the circle, the Warriors own the conference's lowest ERA at 2.95 while ranking second in both strikeouts (359) and runs allowed (181), trailing only Shepherd in each category.
  • During the PSAC Tournament, ESU totaled eight home runs and outscored opponents 42-25. 
  • Sarah Davenport earned her third straight All-PSAC East First Team selection, becoming just the sixth player in program history to receive the honor three times.
  • Davenport holds a 23-10 record with three saves while posting the conference's second-lowest ERA (2.04) and 287 strikeouts. The junior also became one of just five pitchers in PSAC history to record 1,000 career strikeouts, reaching the milestone with her 10th strikeout against IUP on May 8. During the PSAC Tournament, Davenport totaled 28 strikeouts across 24.3 innings pitched. 
  • Davenport has totaled three weekly PSAC honors and one NFCA DII Pitcher of the Week honors this season. She earned national recognition after she delivered the third perfect game of her career against Shepherd on April 11.
  • Also earning All-PSAC First Team honors were (C) Delaney Ridgell and (1B) Kinsley Proepper
  • Katie Master was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week on February 24, while Megan Chroniger earned weekly honors on March 30.   
  • Master, Chroniger, and Tulana Mingin have started all 55 games for the Warriors. 
  • Master has recorded 39 hits, scored 24 runs, batted in 39 runs, hit six home runs, and leads the team with 13 doubles. Master reclaimed the top spot in the program record book in career home runs with her 24th against West Chester in the PSAC Tournament. Master has stolen 11 bases on 13 attempts, while defensively she posts a .989 fielding percentage through 83 putouts.
  • Chroniger leads the team in both RBIs (47) and home runs (10) and is tied for second in the conference with six triples. Chroniger holds freshman records in three categories including slugging percentage (.588), triples (6), and home runs (10). Defensively, Chroniger posts a .987 fielding percentage through 74 putouts.  
  • Mingin ranks third on the team in batting average (.321) and hits (59) and leads the team in runs (46). Mingin has stolen 23 bases on 27 attempts, which is second-most in the conference. Against IUP in the PSAC Tournament, Mingin went perfect on four stolen base attempts.  
  • Georgia Tym has appeared in 36 games, making 23 starts. Tym has recorded nine hits including two triples, scored six runs, and has stolen five bases.
  • Tessa Guenette, a freshman pitcher, posts a 12-5 record and has earned one save this season. She has recorded 57 strikeouts through 106.2 innings pitched. 

Fairmont State Notes 

  • Fairmont State enters the tournament with a 37-13 overall record and is set to make its first Atlantic Regional appearance since 2022. 
  • In the MEC Tournament, the Falcons won their first two games before falling to both the University of Charleston and Glenville State on the third day.  
  • Fairmont State lost 14-0 in five innings after giving up an 11-run fifth inning in their most recent game.
  • Earlier in the season, the Falcons faced West Chester and went 2-0. They won the first game 7-4 before shutting out the Golden Rams 9-0 in five innings in the second game. 
  • Fairmont State totaled six All-MEC honors with Bella Hess leading the way, earning Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-MEC honors. Also earning First Team All-MEC honors were Emma Paul, Breonna Marietta, and Delaney Haller. Earning Second Team All-MEC honors were Jaylin McGill and Avery Townsend. 
  • The Falcons have five players above a .350 batting average, while Hess leads the team with a .422. Hess also leads the team in runs (52), hits (68), triples (4), walks (29), and fielding percentage (1.000). 
  • Paul leads the team in doubles (20) and RBIs (60), is second in runs (40) and hits (62), and has a .422 batting average with six home runs. 
  • Marietta leads the team in home runs with 16, is second with 54 RBIs, and has hit 13 doubles. She had two three-game stretches with a homer in each game. 
  • Haller has a 1.93 ERA and posts a 15-4 record. She has recorded 75 strikeouts through 119.2 innings pitched.
  • The Falcons have recorded three shutouts and earned 10 run-rule victories this season.
Series History
  • The teams have faced each other four times, with the most recent being in March of 2014. The Warriors fell to the Falcons in 2014 and twice in 2010, but won the first matchup in March of 2008. 

Atlantic Regional Pod 1 

  • In the other pod, top-seed and PSAC Champion, Shippensburg, will host eighth-seeded Claflin, fourth-seeded Glenville State, and fifth-seeded Charleston (WV).   

A Look Ahead 

  • Winners of the two pods will meet in the Super Regional for a best-of-three game series on Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22, at the highest remaining seed for a trip to Chattanooga, Tenn.
