STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- The No. 2 East Stroudsburg University softball team defeated No. 7 Fairmont State in the opening round of the NCAA Atlantic Regional, 1-0, behind Katie Master's solo shot to left center.
Sarah Davenport earned the win, improving to 24-10 on the season while striking out nine batters. Through seven innings, Davenport gave up just two hits and allowed no runs.
Both Master and Megan Chroniger recorded two hits apiece, while four additional batters recorded one hit.
In the bottom of the fourth with a full count, Master delivered her seventh home run of the season to give the Warriors the lone run of the game.
