LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — After a complete game against Kutztown at Coca-Cola Park,
Ethan Woods was named the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Kutztown didn't get on the scoreboard until they had two outs in the top of the seventh, as Woods quieted the Golden Bears' bats all day long. He struck out five batters, only allowing five base runners all day without giving up a walk. For Woods, its his second time earning the award in his career, both coming within the last three weeks. It's the fourth time an ESU pitcher has been named the top thrower of the week in the division, with
Evan Hughes earning it two times earlier in the season as well.
The Warriors closed out the season with a sweep of Kutztown, clinching a share of the PSAC East regular season title. As the second seed in the PSAC Tournament, the Warriors will open up competition on the second day against the third seed from the PSAC West, Gannon, at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, in Slippery Rock, Pa.
