Softball Continues Momentum with Two Five-Run Innings to Defeat WCU

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The East Stroudsburg University softball team continued its momentum into the second day of the 2026 PSAC Softball Tournament with a 10-1 run-rule victory over West Chester Thursday afternoon. The Warriors used a pair of five-run innings to secure the win in five innings.

Notables

With her 24th career home run, Katie Master became the program's all-time home run leader.

ESU totaled two home runs on the day, with the other coming from Karlye Teman. Master led the team with five RBIs, while Kinsley Proepper and Maddin Grow combined for seven walks. Megan Chroniger finished 2-for-3 at the plate with one run scored and one RBI. Delaney Ridgell, Maddy Pritchard, and Marissa Perez also recorded hits. Proepper led the team with two runs scored, while eight additional Warriors crossed the plate once.

Sarah Davenport earned the victory to improve to 22-8 on the season, striking out six batters while allowing just one run on two hits.

How it Happened

Tulana Mingin opened the bottom of the first with a walk before advancing on Grow's sacrifice bunt. Mingin later scored on Ridgell's RBI double to left field to give the Warriors an early lead. After Proepper drew a walk and Chroniger singled to right field to load the bases, Master launched a grand slam to put ESU ahead 5-0.

West Chester answered with a solo home run in the top of the third inning to cut the deficit to 5-1.

East Stroudsburg responded with another five-run inning in the bottom of the third. Teman led off with a home run to left field, her second of the tournament, extending the lead to 6-1. Perez followed with a single before Grow and Ridgell each drew walks to load the bases. Proepper then earned another walk to force in a run, making it 7-1. Chroniger added an RBI single to score Grow, and Master later drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home pinch runner Macy Crum. Pritchard then reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Proepper to score the final run, 10-1.
