EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team fell to No. 3 West Chester, 1-0, Wednesday evening at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
With the loss, the Warriors move to 1-1 on the season, while the Golden Rams improve to 2-0. ESU managed just three shots, while WCU registered six in the first half and 10 in the second.
Sophia Lowery led the Warriors with two shots, while
Kali O'Connell registered ESU's lone shot on goal. Lowery recorded the first shot of the game at the 8:20 mark before adding another attempt early in the second half at 52:53. With less than three minutes remaining, O'Connell recorded the Warriors' final shot.
The Warriors held the Golden Rams to a scoreless first half behind strong defense. West Chester broke through early in the second half, scoring the game's lone goal at the 50:21 mark.
