2025 Season Highlights: A dominant force in the cage and the heart of the Warriors' defense, Abby Simonetti closed her career with a legacy-defining season. She was named PSAC Defensive Player of the Year, earning First Team East All-PSAC, First Team IWLCA All-Region, and prestigious national honors as a USA Lacrosse First Team All-American and IWLCA Second Team All-American, marking her second career All-America selection.
Simonetti started all 21 games, logging over 1,228 minutes with 246 total saves on 564 shots faced, finishing with a .560 save percentage and a 9.42 goals against average. She posted a season-best 18 saves in a key road win at Shippensburg (Mar. 29), and consistently made critical stops throughout the Warriors’ postseason run. She also contributed 43 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers, including a season-high 6 ground balls in her final appearance against Slippery Rock (May 10).
Simonetti’s blend of poise, grit, and clutch play not only anchored ESU’s defense en route to the NCAA DII Atlantic Region Semifinal, but also solidified her place among the program’s all-time greats.
2024: Named IWLCA Division II Goalkeeper of the Year, NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship All-Tournament Team, IWLCA All-America First Team, IWLCA All-Atlantic Region First Team, All-PSAC East Second Team… participated in all 21 games… recorded 10 wins during the season… totaled 238 saves for a saving percentage of .598… career-high 27 saves as a Warrior against Kutztown (5/4)… helped the Warriors win NCAA DII Atlantic Region Championship.
