PHILADELPHIA – Junior Travis Toth hit a mark of 187-2 in the hammer throw in his second meet of the outdoor season and the women's 4x800m relay ran the second-fastest time in school history as East Stroudsburg University concluded its annual trip to the Penn Relays on Saturday at Franklin Field.

Toth was sixth in a field of 26 in the men's collegiate hammer which included 23 Division I athletes. Toth, a returning national qualifier, has an NCAA DII provisional mark of 190-1 at Muhlenberg on April 5 and returned to competition after two weekends off in preparation for next week's PSAC Championships at Shippensburg.

The women's 4x800m relay of senior Kim Wernerspach, freshman Lauren Toth, freshman Erin Brady and senior Meghan Ragard clocked 9:33.61 in the 4x800m Championship of America event – a time that has been bettered only once in school history (9:31.04 in 1994).

ESU was the final finisher of 29 schools which featured 27 Division I institutions. Wernerspach led off in 2:20.12, followed by Toth (2:24.21), Brady (2:25.32) and Ragard (2:23.98).

This weekend's Penn Relays included two school records – senior Chris Schneider in the 5000m (14:36.99) on Thurdsay night, and the men's shuttle hurdles (Adam Robertino, Ronald D'Eliseo, Derrick Washington and Steven Morgan) on Friday afternoon, running 59.81 to break a record set in 1980.

ESU had a total of 22 athletes compete at the 120th Annual Penn Relays.
