ESU Women’s Track & Field Posts 15 PSAC Qualifying Marks at Lehigh Fast Times; Webster Hits NCAA Provisional Mark

EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University women's track & field team posted 15 PSAC qualifying marks at the Lehigh Fast Times Before Finals meet. Senior Tiana Webster highlighted the season-opening meet for the Warriors, as she hit a provisionally-qualifying mark for Nationals in the 60m dash.


Webster raced to a first-place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.65, which was just shy of the ESU program record of 7.62 set by Danielle Smith in 2015. Webster also placed fourth in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 26.61 for a PSAC qualifying time.


The Warriors had four athletes record PSAC qualifying marks in the weight throw, led by Me'Saj Closs (53'4.50") and Sam Giangrasso (48'10.75"), who placed second and third, respectively. Taylor Barkman (46'2.50") and Alexis Schuldes (44'9.75") also reached qualifying standards in the event.


ESU had two other top-three finishes at the meet, with Olivia Ellzy taking third place in the shot put with a toss of 39'1", and Jeanette Jones placing third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.42, as both qualified for PSACs with their performances. Misha Duverger joined Jones with a qualifying time of 9.54 during the preliminary heat of the 60m hurdles.


In the pole vault, Hannah Frankenfield, Juliana Schraer and Nickolina Annelli posted marks of 10'6" to tie for fourth place, as the trio all hit PSAC qualifying standards.


Rounding out the team's PSAC qualifying marks were Morgan Dey in the 60m dash (8.05), Kamya Edmonds in the triple jump (34'5"), and Jannae Bonds in the high jump (4'11.75").


In the 4x400 relay, ESU's team of Sarah Klag, Jones, Allyson Stitzer and Duverger combined for a time of 4:11.07 to take second place in the event.


The Warriors will be off from competition until January 10 when they head to the Golden Bear Invitational hosted by Kutztown.
