LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's track and field programs added six PSAC qualifying marks and recorded four individual first-place finishes on Saturday at the Lock Haven Last Chance Qualifier. The Warriors also won the 4x400-meter relay race.
Junior
Sarah Klag, freshman
Jeanette Jones, junior
Allyson Stitzer, and sophomore
Brittany Carratura were the top finishing team in the 4x400 with a time of 4:09.24.
Klag crossed the finish line first in the 400-meter run for ESU with a personal-best time of 57.93. The mark ranks eighth all-time in program history. Stitzer was also victorious for the Warriors in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.24.
In the 100-meter hurdles, ESU added two new PSAC qualifiers in Jones and senior
Briana Hall. Jones won the event with a personal-best time of 15.01, while Hall placed third with a personal-best mark of 15.36. Jones' time ranks sixth all-time in program history, while Hall's ranks 10th.
In field events, freshman
Juliana Schraer recorded the top mark in the pole vault (10-10) and set a personal-best on her way to adding her name to the PSAC qualifying list. The mark also ranks fifth all-time in program history.
Junior
Me'Saj Closs placed second for ESU in the hammer throw with a mark of 164-2, while freshman
Taylor Barkman delivered a personal-best and PSAC qualifying mark of 135-8 to place seventh.
The Warriors also added a new PSAC qualifier in the shot put as freshman
Zionette Salahuddin finished third with a personal-best mark of 36-9 3/4. Senior
Victoria Collins and junior
Tatiana Williams both added their names to the PSAC qualifying list in the high jump, placing third and fourth respectively, with a mark of 5-2 1/4.
The Warriors travel to Mansfield next weekend for the 2019 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The event begins on May 9 and runs through May 11. The 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships will take place, May 23-25, in Kingsville, Texas.
