EAST STROUDSBURG – Sophomore Brock Kauffman and junior Anthony Torreullas paced four East Stroudsburg University baseball players named to the All-PSAC East teams on Tuesday, as released by the conference office.

Kauffman and redshirt senior Christian Rishel were both recognized for the second time while at ESU. Torreullas and redshirt sophomore Nate Fiala were honored for the first time in their collegiate careers.

ESU (31-17, 17-11 PSAC East) receives multiple All-PSAC first-team selections for a seventh-consecutive season. The Warriors face Gannon on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in the opening round of the 2019 PSAC Baseball Championship.

Kauffman (Blue Ball, Pa./Garden Spot), who was named to the second team as a freshman at third base last year, earns first-team infielder accolades this year.

He opened the season with a 19-game hitting streak for the Warriors and paced ESU during the regular season in several different offensive categories, including hits, runs batted in, and multiple-hit games. Kauffman currently ranks in the top-10 of the conference in hits, doubles, and RBI.

Kauffman started all 48 games for the Warriors and finished the regular season with a .318 batting average to go along with four home runs, two triples, 15 doubles, and 40 runs scored. He went 13-for-15 in the stolen base category while tallying 89 assists in the field.

Rishel (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) earns his second all-conference award after being named to the first team as a designated hitter in 2016. He garners second team honors this year at the same position after starting 45 games for ESU.

He has appeared in 182 games for the Warriors, which ranks seventh all-time in program history behind Jacob DeBoer, who played in 184 games from 2004-07. His 184 career hits rank 12th all-time, while his 18 home runs and 128 RBI rank third all-time at ESU. Rishel also ranks in the top-20 of several other all-time statistical categories at ESU.

Rishel played 46 games for the Warriors during the regular season and batted .315 with 40 hits, three home runs, and 22 RBI. He added nine doubles to go along with 23 runs scored and 20 walks.

Torreullas (New Holland, Pa./Christian School of York), who transferred from Nyack College prior to the start of the 2019 season, earns his first All-PSAC East selection for the Warriors with first-team honors at the utility position.

He appeared in 47 games for ESU during the regular season, making 25 starts in the infield and 22 in the outfield. He split his time in the infield between first base, second base, and third base while playing both left and right in the outfield.

He currently ranks second in the conference with 19 doubles and seventh in walks with 29. Torreullas finished the regular season with a .320 batting average and 49 hits through 153 at-bats. He recorded 49 hits including six home runs and 40 RBI to go along with 39 runs scored.

Fiala (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) earns his first All-PSAC East selection as a starting pitcher on the second team after going 4-2 for the Warriors during the regular season. His best start of the season for ESU came on March 24 against Lock Haven. He recorded the first no-hitter for the Warriors since 2015 and the eighth dating back to the 1991 season.

He appeared in 12 games during the regular season and made 10 starts for ESU. He compiled a 2.89 earned run average through 46.2 innings of work. Fiala fanned 51 batters while issuing just 15 walks. He held opposing hitters to a .190 average at the plate while surrendering only 15 earned runs.

Fiala garnered two PSAC East Pitcher of the Week awards and two NCBWA Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week nods. He was the fourth ESU pitcher to earn multiple NCBWA awards and just the second to do so multiple times during the same season (Jeremy Gigliotti - 2011).
