10/2/2026 11:46:00 AM

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The ESU baseball team held its annual MLB Scout Day on Thursday afternoon at Creekview Park, holding workouts for 24 players.

14 hitters and 11 pitchers worked out in front of scouts on the Warriors' home field yesterday under HC John Kochmansky, who is entering his 19th season with ESU. Kochmansky has led the Warriors to five straight NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament berths, including the program's first-ever Region Championship two years ago.

"It was a great day for our baseball program to showcase our overall talent in front of MLB scouts," Kochmansky said. "Both the offense and defense were impressive, and the pitchers were equally as impressive."

Hitters: Catcher Adam Clark, infielder Easton Albert, infielder Zander Condeelis, outfielder Troy Davis, outfielder Cole Serfass, infielder Zachary Paczewski, infielder Janser Paredes Jimenez, first baseman Chase Frantz, utility Gabe Gillespie, outfielder Chaise Albus, outfielder Ryan Manning, outfielder Nuge Willard, infielder Michael Kelly, and catcher Karson Reffner.

Pitchers: LHP Caden Leonard, RHP Cayden Vishnesky, LHP Peyton Brannock, RHP Gavin Chillot, RHP Brock Bryson, RHP Ryan Cavanaugh, RHP Gregorys Mateo, RHP Garrett Bohn, RHP Evan Hughes, and RHP Johansel Brito.

ESU has had eight players selected in the MLB draft, with Tom Reisinger, a 10th round selection by the Athletics in 2023, as the most recent Warrior to be picked. Kochmansky has coached seven of the eight Warriors taken in the MLB draft. The previous seven players to hear their names called were Matt Festa (7th round, Seattle) and Robert Bennie (24th round, Athletics) in 2016, Chris Knott (34th round, Tampa Bay) in 2014, Joe Bennie (28th round, Athletics) in 2013, Jeremy Gigliotti (19th round, San Diego) in 2011, Mark Angelo (44th round, Seattle) in 2009, and Joel Bennett (21st round, Boston) in 1991.

Scout Day kicked off a big four-day stretch for the ESU baseball team's fall, as the team is holding its annual golf outing today at the Shawnee Inn and honoring its 2026 Bat Club inductees and Robert Shebelsky Legacy Award winner tomorrow.
