Mike Raccioppi was announced on Monday as the PSAC Wrestling Athlete of the Week.
Raccioppi (Middletown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) went 4-0 for the Warriors at the Williams Open and claimed the 174-pound title after defeating Chance Lapier from Castleton University via a 10-8 decision.
His other three wins were pins and totaled 12:32 as he finished fifth among individual wrestlers with the most pins in the least amount of time.
Raccioppi also claimed the 174-pound title at the Bob Quade Cyclone Open, going 4-0 with three pins.
He notched an 18-3 tech fall victory against Pitt-Johnstown's Brock Biddle in a bout between the top two wrestlers in Super Region I to open the 2019-20 season. Raccioppi is currently ranked No. 1 at 174 pounds in the latest NWCA Division II Individual Rankings and No. 1 in the most recent NCAA DII Super Region I polls.
This is the first time since the 2014-15 season that ESU has had a wrestler ranked at the top of his weight class in Super Region I (
Tyler Richardson, 197). Since 2009-10, six ESU wrestlers have garnered the No. 1 ranking in Super Region I.
Raccioppi is the eighth Warrior to be named PSAC Wrestler of the Week since 2004. Other honorees are John Carr (174) on December 15, 2004;

No. 19 ESU returns to dual action on January 14 against Muhlenberg beginning at 7:30 p.m. inside Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors will welcome back wrestling alumni for their contest against the Mules.
