Men’s Wrestling Falls to Scranton, 22-21

EAST STROUDSBURG – In their first dual meet of the season, the East Stroudsburg University men's wrestling team opened dropped a 22-21 decision to Scranton on Thursday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Notables

- Trailing 6-2, freshman Joshua Jasonowicz recorded the first pin of his ESU career at the 4:28 mark in first match of the dual to put ESU out in front, 6-0

- After the Warriors fell in three straight matches, freshman Jack Spahn stopped the skid at the 165 pound matchup with a 13-8 decision to pick up his first collegiate win

- Finding himself down 3-2 in the third period, sophomore Josh Leidig rolled his opponent on his back for his first collegiate pin, which helped the Warriors cut the Royals' lead to 22-15.

- In his ESU debut, freshman Ajay Hiller grinded out a 7-3 decision to get the Warriors within four at 22-18.

- Needing a major decision or better, junior Nick Nittoli secured a 4-2 decision for his first win of the season, but the Warriors would ultimately fall to the Royals, 22-21.
