EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's wrestling team returned to the mat on Sunday by hosting the 54th edition of the ESU Open inside Koehler Fieldhouse.
The Warriors had the opportunity to wrestle against 21 other programs after last year's event was postponed.

Joshua Jasonowicz (1-2) opened the day by pinning Drexel's David Colton at the 3:44 mark before dropping his next two matches. Competing as an unattached wrestler was sophomore

Matthew Rosa (3-2) fell just short in his first match but responded with a 12-6 decision against Centenary's Adrian Pietri, a 22-14 major decision over Pitt-Johnstown's Kyler Crawford and a forfeit to pickup three wins on the day.

Luke Ciampa opened his ESU career by finishing the day 2-2 after notching a 6-4 decision over teammate
Alex Leon (0-2) and a fall (1:44) against junior
Christopher McMonegal.
Wrestling unattached, McMonegal went 1-2 as he recorded a 9-4 decision against Ferrum's Charles Tisby.

Sophomore
Matthew Richardson finished the tournament 1-2 after pinning freshman teammate
Kody Edwards in 2:29.
In his first match wearing the ESU singlet, Edwards (1-2) picked up the victory by pinning (1:08) Centenary's Armani Nunez but ultimately, he fell in his next two bouts.
