EAST STROUDSBURG -- After helping the East Stroudsburg University men's basketball team to a pair of home victories over Seton Hill and Cal U over the weekend, the PSAC announced on Monday that Lakeem McAliley was named the conference's East Defensive Player of the Week.

McAliley led the Warriors on both defense and offense, averaging a team-best 17 points on 14-of-28 (50%) shooting from the field. Defensively, the Philadelphia native posted an impressive seven blocks against Seton Hill, the most by a Warrior since Channon Easley's school-record eight blocks in 2005 against West Chester. He added four steals defensively against Cal U on Saturday.

He becomes the fourth Warrior to earn PSAC East Defensive-Athlete of the Week, joining teammates Carlos Pepin and Mike Millsip who both earned the honor in 2019-20. Michal Weiss also earned the honor during the 2019-20 season.

Through his first five games of his ESU career, the redshirt-freshman is averaging 13.6 ppg and 4.4 rpg, while shooting .521 from the floor. He has reached double-figures in scoring in four consecutive games.

McAliley and the Warriors head to Molloy on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
