SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Freshman
Elizabeth Makar set the freshman record in the hammer to highlight the East Stroudsburg University women's track and field team on the first day of competition at the 2021 PSAC Track & Field outdoor championships.
Makar broke fellow teammates record
Madison Horahan with a throw of 45.91m to finish seventh in the event. Senior
Barbara Grossov was right behind in eighth with a season-best throw of 45.00m.
Isabella Marte finished 11th with a throw of 41.75m and Horahan took 14th with a mark of 39.28m.
Makar now holds the freshman record in the hammer, shot and discus throws.
In the 10,000m run, freshman
Madison Palmer took sixth with a personal-best time of 40:50.97 and senior
Mandy Fine finished eighth with a time of 41:43.08.
The Warriors return to competition tomorrow at 12 p.m. from Seth Grove Stadium with the long jump, discus and high jump events. Running events begin at 1:05 p.m. with the men's 4x100m relay prelims.
