Cicerelle Garners CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

She becomes the first Warrior lacrosse student-athlete since 2000 to earn the honor

EAST STROUDSBURG  East Stroudsburg University lacrosse's all-time points leader Hana Cicerelle was named to College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 2 At-Large Team, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon.

Cicerelle completed her excellent career as the program's all-time points leader with 270 points. She ranks second in both goals (180) and assists (90) in ESU history. During ESU's Atlantic Region Championship and NCAA Semifinalist run, she registered 48 goals (t-1st team), 16 assists (2nd) for 64 points (1st). Of the many honors she earned this past season, she was named to the IWLCA All-America Third Team, IWLCA All-Region First Team, PSAC East Second Team and the NCAA All-Tournament Team.   

In the classroom, Cicerelle has earned Athletic Director's Honor Roll and PSAC Scholar-Athlete status in all five seasons as a Warrior. She earned a 3.48 GPA during her time as an undergraduate nursing major and posted a 3.85 GPA as a health education graduate student.

Cicerelle is just the third Warrior lacrosse student-athlete ever to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large honors, joining Kristin Restivo (1999-00) and Tiffany Bair (1995-96). The CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large team represents the following sports: women's beach volleyball, women's bowling, women's rowing, men's and women's fencing, field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics: men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's swimming men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo and men's wrestling.  

The CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-America teams recognize student-athletes for athletic and academic achievements and are nominated and voted on by members of CoSIDA. District 2 of Division II follows the NCAA's regional model and includes all schools from the PSAC, MEC (Mountain East Conference) and CIAA (Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association).

Cicerelle becomes the third Warrior this spring to earn CoSIDA All-District laurels, joining men's soccer junior Juan Carlos and softball senior Marah Range.
