LEWISBURG – The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team won three events to conclude competition at Bucknell's Bison Open & Multi on Saturday at Gerhard Fieldhouse.
Winning events for the Warriors were Cole Gorham (shot put), Isaac Almoney (weight throw) and the 4x400m relay team.
Also highlighting the day for the Warriors was Austyn Hamilton, who clocked a PSAC qualifying time in the 800m.
Running Highlights
Raul Esteves was the runner-up in the 60m dash after finishing in 7.08 while Austin Nice (7.24) and Sean Roberts (7.30) took 9th and 10th respectively.
Ryan Ditty led the way in the 400m by taking fifth with a time of 52.06 and Roberts returned to the track for an 11th place after clocking a time of 52.71.
On his way to a third place finish in the 800m, Hamilton clocked a time of 1:58.15 while Jordan Chong-Gayle (2:01.06) took ninth and Alejandro Paez (2:02.41) was 12th.
Taking third in the one mile, Brian McGarrity lowered his personal-best time to 4:24.66.
Despite the 500m not being a PSAC event, Tyler Boone took first with a time of 1:07.37 and Trey Boyd was fifth (1:10.70).
In the 4x400m relay, the group Ditty, Esteves, Hamilton and Boone won the event after crossing the finish line in 3:26.31.
Field Event Highlights
In the shot put, Cole Gorham set the freshman record with a throw of 15.78m on his way to a first-place finish while Daryn Blackwell was 14th with a mark of 11.01m.
The Warriors took 1-2 in the weight throw with Isaac Almoney recording the fifth-best mark in school history at 16.35m to win the event while Daryn Blackwell was the runner-up at 15.92m.
Austin Nice led the charge in the long jump, taking sixth with a leap of 6.37m while Ivan Hicks (6.24m) was eighth and Jack Gorham (6.12m) took 10th place.
Ivan Hicks returned to sand pit for the triple jump, finishing as the runner-up with a mark of 13.41m.
Romanley Turnier led the way in the high jump, clearing 1.89m to take third while Aaron Sanchez placed eighth with a mark of 1.79m
Heptathlon
After wrapping up the final three events of the heptathlon, Daniel Daley accumulated a personal-best 4321 points, the seventh most in school history, to take fourth. Caleb Carney finished seventh with 4085 points and Eric Krzyzaniak was in eighth with 4008 points.
