EAST STROUDSBURG – The Division II Conference Information Director's Association (D2CIDA) announced on Tuesday that East Stroudsburg University men's basketball forward Lakeem McAliley has earned D2CIDA National Player of the Week honors.

Through two games this season, McAliley posted a pair of double-doubles in wins over Fayetteville State and Bowie State.

Against Fayetteville State, who was selected to win the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and ranked sixth in the D2SIDA Atlantic Region Preseason Poll, the Philadelphia native recorded a double-double, scoring 25 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.

Not to be outdone, McAliley led ESU to victory with another double-double of 35 points and 13 rebounds against tournament-host Bowie State. His 35 points are the most by a Warrior since 2015-16, when Will Brown posted 37 points against Seton Hill.

Through two contests, McAliley leads the conference in scoring (30.0 ppg, 2nd nationally) rebounding (12.5 rpg, 6th nationally) and ranks third in field goal percentage (.741, 20th nationally).

In the two wins, McAliley combined for 60 points, 25 rebounds, while shooting 74.1 percent from the floor during the Bowie State Tip-Off Classic.

McAliley also earned the PSAC East Athlete of the Week after the monster performances.

Joining McAliley as D2CID National Player of the Week is ESU women's basketball guard Ryan Weise, who also ranks among the nation's best players through the first week of the season.

The Division II Player of the Week is selected by the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA).
