LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) revealed its All-PSAC teams and major award winners Thursday afternoon, announcing
Adrian Brito as the PSAC East Freshman of the Year, as well as Brito and
Nasir Griffin as members of the All-PSAC East Second Team.
Brito had one of the best freshman seasons in program history, finishing tied for the best FG% (60.4%) and scoring the sixth-most points (370). His 12.3 PPG led the team this season and ranks eighth in terms of highest scoring average for an ESU freshman, and his FG% ranked fifth in the PSAC among players averaging over 10.0 PPG. He consistently reached double figures in scoring, scoring 10 or more points in 24 of ESU's 30 games, including 12 games of 15+ points and a season-high of 21. Brito becomes the eighth freshman in ESU history to earn the distinction, giving the Warriors the division Freshman of the Year in back-to-back years after
Evan Morton won the award last season. Brito is also the first PSAC East Freshman of the Year to make an All-PSAC team since Mansfield's Justice Smith in 2021-22.
Griffin closes out his ESU career with his first All-PSAC selection, earning a spot on the second team. The senior forward crossed 1,000 career points in the penultimate game of the regular season against Kutztown, becoming the 36
th player in program history to do so. He averaged a career-high 10.9 PPG, ranking third on the team. His best game of the season was a 26-point outburst against West Chester, the most points in a single game by a Warrior this season. Griffin also led the team in free throws in terms of makes and attempts, shooting 97-129, ranking 10
th in the conference in free throws made.
The two become the 44
th and 45
th players in ESU history to be named All-PSAC, the 27
th and 28
th under Head Coach
Jeff Wilson. ESU has had multiple All-PSAC honorees in four-straight seasons going back to 2019-2020.
