EAST STROUDSBURG – In the latest the Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) Atlantic Region Poll, the East Stroudsburg University men's basketball team is now ranked sixth, the organization announced on Monday.
The Warriors (3-0) are coming off a 106-84 win over Bridgeport in its latest outing on Sunday for its home opener. ESU continues its season-long five-game homestand this week against D'Youville (Tues., 7:00 p.m.), Clarion (Fri., 7:00 p.m.), Pitt-Johnstown (Sat., 7:00 p.m.) and Molloy (Wed., Dec. 7, 7:30 p.m.).
ESU currently leads NCAA Division II in scoring through three games (110.7 ppg), while also ranking in the top-10 in field goal percentage (2nd, 56.1%), free throw attempts per game (4th, 29.7), free throws made per game (4th, 22.0) as one of 30 undefeated Division II squads remaining. ESU ranks second among all NCAA DI, DII and DII in scoring offense, trailing just Division III's Greenville (105.7 ppg).
Pacing the nation's leading offense is Lakeem McAliley, who ranks third in NCAA Division II in points per game (25.3 ppg), eighth in rebounds per game (11.3) and fifth in field goal percentage (73.7).
The Warriors are back in action on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. against D'Youville.
