Acrobatics & Tumbling Prepared for First-Ever Meet at Quinnipiac

EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University acrobatics & tumbling team is set to make their program debut on Saturday against No. 4 Quinnipiac and No. 6 Gannon at 1 p.m. inside the Bobcat’s People United Center.

Meet Format 

Acrobatics & Tumbling meets are exciting, fast paced, and fan friendly

Each meet is held as a contest between 2-3 teams

Each team has up to 28 competitors on their game-day roster and compete in six events throughout the meet, including: Compulsory, Acro, Pyramid, Toss, Tumbling, and Team

In total, teams compete head-to-head in 20 heats during a competition

Teams are evaluated in each heat by a panel of officials, receiving a score based on starting difficulty values and execution of declared skills

A team can score up to 300 points. The team with the highest overall score is declared the winner

Event 1 – Compulsory

Event 2 – Acro

Event 3 – Pyramid

Halftime

Event 4 – Toss

Event 5 – Tumbling

Event 6 – Team

Meet Interim Head Coach Krikit Gulics

Krikit Gulics brings over 15 years of cheerleading coaching experience to the Poconos. A veteran of the United States Navy, Gulics most recently served as the competitive cheer and competitive dance teams coach at Woodbridge High School, along with teaching US History, Facing History and African American Studies at the school. She guided Woodbridge to numerous Greater Middlesex Conference titles (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020), New Jersey state titles (2015, 2020, 2021) and a National Cheerleaders Association National Championship (2016).

Prior to joining the Warrior family, Gulics was an assistant cheerleading coach at Montclair State. She was the lead competitive stunt coach along with head fundraising coordinator duties.

Gulics is an executive board member for the N.J. State Cheer and Dance Coaches Association. She is also a coach and representative for Cheer Hawaii USA, which hosts a college preparatory summer program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa each summer.

The Warriors will perform their routines inside Koehler Fieldhouse for the first time on Saturday, February 19 when they host a Friends & Family Showcase at 6 p.m.
