EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University acrobatics and tumbling team picked up their first win in program history in a tri meet against Kutztown and Stevenson on Friday evening at Koehler Fieldhouse.
The Golden Bears finished with a top score of 210.245 to collect a pair of wins while the Warriors bested the Mustangs 182.135-127.650 to go 1-1 for the evening.
After the match, the Warriors honored their two seniors, Brielle Chmiel and Alana Conaghan-Silva, who were both integral parts to ESU's inaugural season.
How It Happened
- ESU began the tri meet with a 29.15 in the Compulsory Event, led by Chimiel, Gianna Mattia, Logan Dellacona, Alyssa Takacs and Chrystiana Brettle posting an 8.70 in the Toss Heat
- In the Acro Event, the Warriors recorded a total of 22.50 after Chloe Schaffer, Chmiel, Courtney da Silva and Conaghan-Silva recorded an 8.45 in the 5 Element
- The Warriors went into half time with a total of 76.80 after tallying a 25.40 in the Pyramid Event, which included a 9.40 in Heat 3 (Open)
- In the Toss Event, ESU notched a total of 20.35 after posting a 7.35 in Heat 3 (Open)
- ESU finished with 35.475 in the Tumble Event after Takacs nearly posted a perfect score at 8.225 in the Open Pass
- The Warriors capped of the tri meet with a 49.51 in the Team Event
