MILLERSVILLE Junior Isabella Marte underlined the East Stroudsburg University women's track and field team competing on day two of the 2022 PSAC Outdoor Championships by setting the school record in the discus on Friday at Millersville's Biemesderfer Stadium.
Headed into the final day of competition, the Warriors sit in sixth in the team standings with 21 points, while the host Marauders are the top with 48 points.
Field Highlights
While also earning a fifth place finish in the discus, Marte unleashed a record-breaking throw on her fifth attempt of 43.91m (144-0) to eclipse the previous program record of 135-11 set by Me'Saj Cross in 2018. Madison Horahan notched a top-10 finish in ninth after recording a personal-best mark of 39.95m (131-1), moving her up to sixth all-time in the record book.
On her way to a runner-up finish in the long jump, Edmonds recorded a personal-best leap of 5.65m (18-6 ½), which ranks fourth all-time in school history.
In the pole vault, Hannah Frankenfield paced the Warriors in tie for sixth after clearing the bar at 3.35m (10-11 3/4), while took Nickolina Annelli ninth after clearing the same height.
Running Highlights
The Warriors opened the day on the track by advancing to tomorrow's finals in the 4x100m as the relay squad of Misha Duverger, Ariel Kyle, Jalen Rhodes and Jeanette Jones clocked the fifth quickest time at 48.65.
Jones returned to run in the 100m hurdles, earing a spot the finals after clocking the sixth fastest time at 15.10 while Jacklyn Spaccaforno secured the last spot in eighth at 15.74.
Competing in her third event of the afternoon, Jones secured a spot in the 400m hurdles finals after running the fourth quickest time of the prelims at 1:03.42.
Kyle grabbed the final spot in tomorrow's 200m dash final as the sophomore took eight with a personal-best time of 25.60.
