EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University redshirt sophomore Brent Francisco has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week following his second consecutive complete game shutout on Saturday against Lock Haven, the league office announced on Monday.

The weekly honor is the first for Francisco in his career and the third this season for the Warriors as Anthony Torreullas (Feb. 14) and Ben Piripavel (Feb. 21) were both named Athlete of the Week previously.

Francisco helped the Warriors sweep Lock Haven as he fired his second consecutive complete game shutout (7.0 innings), allowing four hits while striking out six. The redshirt sophomore has not yielded a run in 14 straight innings, helping to lower his ERA to 2.79 which ranks 14th in the PSAC.

Among other conference rankings, the Burlington Township, N.J. native is first in strikeouts (93), third in innings pitched (71.0), fourth in WHIP (1.06) and tied for 10th in wins (6).

The Warriors head to Molloy on Tuesday for their final non-conference game of the season at 3:30 p.m. from the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex.
