MOERGESTEL, NETHERLANDS – East Stroudsburg University softball catcher Kaitlyn Caleen has signed a professional contract with the Roef! Dames 1 that competes in the Golden League in the Netherlands.

Caleen recently completed her fifth year as a Warrior and graduated from ESU with a bachelor's degree in public health .

"Because of the support from my family and Coach Wohlbach I was able to play the game I love knowing they had my back. I'm grateful for the opportunities this amazing sport has given me. Once a Warrior always a Warrior."

ESU head coach Jaime Wohlbach is no stranger to the Golden League, having played for Twins Dames 1 amongst her stops as a professional player.

"We're proud of Kaitlyn to sign professional with Team Roef in Holland," said Wohlbach. "She will be playing in a very competitive league, learn a new culture, make new teammates and friends, and have some amazing life experiences through this great game.

I've trained Kaitlyn since she was 12 years old, wheeling a bag up larger than her to train to be a catcher! She played at ESU, was a 2-time All-PSAC catcher and opponents feared running on her arm. She's ready and I'm excited to watch her play professionally!"

Caleen broke the Warrior single season records for RBIs (36) and walks (30) in 2019. She is one of just nine Warriors and one of just two ESU catchers (Erika Lee – 2000, 2003) to receive All-PSAC East First Team accolades multiple times.

In Warrior career, Caleen ranks second in walks (70), eighth in on-base percentage (.400) and runs scored (83), ninth in RBIs (76), 11th in extra-base hits (39), 13th in home runs (9), 14th in doubles (26), and 18th in slugging percentage (.442).

Roef! earned third place in the Premiere Cup in 2021 and won the Dutch National Championship in 2019.
