ESU Women’s Basketball Ranked No. 1 in Cumulative GPA among PSAC Programs

EAST STROUDSBURG - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) revealed the top cumulative team grade-point averages for each of its sponsored sports on Tuesday afternoon, with East Stroudsburg University's women's basketball program among those which received recognition.

The Warriors currently maintain a collective GPA of 3.819, placing them first out of the 18 PSAC schools which participate in women's basketball. They become the fourth ESU program to be honored since the PSAC formed the team GPA award initiative in 2011-12 and first since men's soccer in 2020.

Earlier this year, the women's basketball team received ESU's Team Academic Achievement Award for holding the highest GPA among the institution's 13 women's athletic programs.

Each member of the women's basketball team were honored as PSAC Scholar-Athletes last week as junior Claire Courter, freshman Corrin Gill, graduate student Ryan Weise, redshirt junior Cassie Ksiazek, sophomore Carley Adams, sophomore Leah Pishock, senior Maggie Wigoda, sophomore Gwenn Sabato, freshman Rachel Capua, freshman Jordyn Keating, freshman Jessica Polin, freshman Izzy Vogel, freshman Katie Geisler and sophomore Bianca Giordano all hold cumulative GPA's over 3.25.

A total of nine PSAC schools earned at least one Top Team GPA award. The Warriors team GPA of 3.819 was the second-highest out of the 21 programs honored.
