EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Following its first loss in nearly a calendar year, the East Stroudsburg University men's soccer team bounced back with a dominant 5-1 win over Shepherd on a rain Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
With the win, the Warriors (6-1-5, 2-1-5 PSAC East) picks up the season sweep of SU and three points in the standings. ESU is now just four points behind Bloomsburg from the final postseason position after the Huskies' tie with West Chester. The Rams (2-8-2, 1-6-1 PSAC East) fall for the sixth consecutive match.
Notables
- Five Different Warriors registered goals for ESU, with Bradley Turocy, Trevor Paone, Ignasi Cucurella Tuset Austin Weeks-Woodward and Colby Raymond firing goals against SU. Additionally, Raymond and Turocy each assisted on one another's' goals.
- Andrew West recorded the lone goal of the contest with an assist by Byrce Kilmer.
- Brayden Evans (4-0-3) made two saves and allowed the lone goal in his fourth win of the campaign. Aiden Hoopes took over duties with 18:38 remaining and made one save.
- ESU dominated in shots (34-8) and led in shots on goal (12-4) and corners (12-2).
- The chippy contest featured six yellow cards and 37 fouls. ESU was assessed two of the four yellow cards.
