LOCK HAVEN – For the second time this season, East Stroudsburg University volleyball libero Makayla Baca was honored as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Baca helped ESU sweep Lock Haven and Bloomsburg to keep the Warriors a perfect 7-0 in the PSAC East after averaging 6.17 digs, 0.67 assists and 0.50 aces per set to go along with .958 receiving and .914 serving percentages. In a three-set victory over the Bald Eagles, the senior totaled 18 digs and an ace while eclipsing the 1,000 dig mark for her career. She's totaled 797 and counting for the Warriors as well as 228 in two seasons at Montana State Billings.  

Baca returned on Saturday afternoon with 19 digs, four assists and a pair of aces in a sweep over the Huskies.

The Santa Fe, New Mexico native is third in the PSAC in digs per set (5.00) and sixth in total digs (325).

Baca was previously tabbed the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week on September 11 and becomes the first Warrior in program history to earn multiple defensive weekly awards in a season.
