EAST STROUDSBURG ­– For the second time this season, East Stroudsburg University freshman Bri Hennett was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Hennett guided the Warriors to an 8th place finish out of 36 teams at the 49th Paul Short Run on Saturday. The freshman recorded a fifth place finish in the White 6K after crossing the line in 22:37.8, which was the lowest time of any PSAC competitor in the event. 

The Northumberland native becomes the first Warrior to receive multiple weekly awards from the conference since Kaylyn West on October 3 & 10, 2017.

The Warriors have one more event before this year's PSAC Championships on October 21 as ESU makes their way to the Bloomsburg Invitational on Saturday for an 11 a.m. race. The men's team gets the 8K underway at 10 a.m. from the BU Cross Country Course.
