No.17 Warriors Dominate NJCU Quad Meet

ESU won 26 of a possible 30 matches

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The No. 17 East Stroudsburg University women's wrestling team dominated the NJCU Quad on Friday night, defeating Utica, Alvernia and the host No. 9 Gothic Knights at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center.

The Warriors improve to 7-2 on the season, with its lone losses coming against two current top-10 teams in Iowa and Sacred Heart.

ESU opened the meet with a 45-0 win over first-year program Utica, while defeating Alvernia 43-6 and took down No. 9 NJCU for the second time this season by a score of 39-9.

The Warriors won 26 of a possible 30 matches, with two losses coming by forfeit at 191. ESU and Utica had a double forfeit at 191.

Going a perfect 3-0 on the evening for ESU were Olivia Klein, Tiana Savino, No. 8 Mia MacalusoRuth Ansah, No. 8 Zoe Gress, Paityn DeLong and Jade Huerta. Gabby Baker earned victories in both of her matches, while Cadence Howard earned a victory in her lone match against Alvernia.

No. 8 Emily Klein picked up a pair of victories at 116, while suffering a loss to No. 6 Izabella Frezzo in a match of nationally ranked wrestlers.
