RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — ESU women's wrestling's
Yianna Foufas earned a podium finish to win bronze at the 2026 U20 Pan American Beach Wrestling Championships this past weekend in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The rising junior went 2-2 at the tournament, winning her final match to finish in the top three of the 50 kg women's division. Foufas started the tournament with a win by forfeit and bounced back from two losses by defeating Mexico's Gabriela Palacios Hernandez. In her final match, Foufas shut out Hernandez off a pushout and a three-point toss.
Foufas helped the US finish third in the team rankings with 52 points, trailing the top two teams, Puerto Rico with 70 points, and Brazil with 55 points.
