EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — Olivia Klein took first place in the 103-pound bracket, contributing six points to the fourth-place finish for the women's wrestling team in the ESU Open on Sunday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Klein won all three of her matches, two coming from pins and one by decision. The senior made quick work of advancing to the finals, pinning Sophia Gordon from Western New England in 1:32. In the top match, she earned her second win by fall over Sacred Heart's Madison Rucci, taking the win in just under five minutes.
• Angelina Hiller placed second in the 138-pound class. She made the finals with a technical fall win but forfeited against Willow White of Delaware State for second. Also placing in the 138 bracket was Ragan Retell. After taking a loss via technical fall in the semifinals, she rebounded with a strong 11-0 technical fall win in the third-place match.
• Ariel Manning and Kylie Gudewitz both earned fourth-place finishes. Manning started the day with back-to-back wins by decision but lost in the semifinals and third-place match by technical fall. Gudewitz picked up three consecutive wins in the early going until taking a technical fall in the semifinal round. She went the distance in the match for third place but couldn't come out on top, taking a 4-2 decision loss.
• Placing sixth for the Warriors were Isabella Washington-Vasquez at 117 and Savannah Tittelback in the 124 bracket. Washington-Vasquez took a close 16-16 loss via decision, but she was able to make a comeback, winning four straight matches in the consolation bracket. However, after making it to the fifth-place match, she fell in an 11-0 technical fall. Tittelback also made her way through the consolation bracket after a loss in the Round of 16, taking five total wins on the day and ending with a no contest in the fifth-place match.
