BETHLEHEM – The East Stroudsburg University women's track and field team opened the 2023-24 season on Friday as Elyssa Pemu represented the Warriors in the pentathlon at Lehigh's Fast Times on Friday inside Raugh Fieldhouse.

Pemu notched a sixth place finish in the pentathlon as the senior finished with 2797 points while recording a PSAC automatic qualifying mark in the high jump.

Pemu opened the afternoon by taking seventh place in the 60m hurdles after crossing the line in 10.19. The South Park native turned her attention to the field events beginning with a third place finish in the high jump, clearing the bar at a personal-best 1.57m (5-1 ¾) on her final attempt.

In the shot put, Pemu took fifth with a mark of 8.86m (29-1) on her first throw and moving to sand pit for the long jump, she recorded a sixth place finish after leaping 4.66m (15-3 ½).

Closing out the pentathlon with the 800m, Pemu clocked a time of 2:47.1 to notch a sixth-place finish.
