OWINGS MILLS, MD – The East Stroudsburg University acrobatics and tumbling team got back in the win column against Stevenson as the Warriors defeated the Mustangs, 233.900-138.325, on Friday evening inside Owings Mills Gymnasium.
The Warriors improved their record to 2-4 overall while the Mustangs fell to 1-6.
How it Happened
- The Warriors got the meet underway by scoring 32.50 points in the Compulsory Event as ESU recorded an 8.50 (Acro), 9.70 (Pyramid), 9.30 (Toss) and 5.00 (Tumbling).
- In the Acro Event, ESU scored 25.35 points after recording an 8.80 in the 5 Element, a 6.95 in the 6 Element and 9.60 in the 7 Element
- The Warriors grabbed an 85.05-75.30 lead over the Mustangs at halftime as ESU notched 27.20 points in the Pyramid Event. ESU recorded scores of 8.60 (Inversion), 9.30 (Synchronized) and 9.35 (Open)
- Out of the break, the Warriors totaled 25.30 points in the Toss Event with scores of 8.70 in 450 Salto, 7.85 in Synchronized and 8.75 in Open
- Moving into the Tumbling Event, ESU finished with 40.400 points after totaling scores of 7.200 (Duo Pass), 5.500 (Trio Pass), 5.800 (Quad Pass), 7.950 (Aerial Pass), 6.200 (6 Element Pass) and 7.750 (Open Pass)
- ESU capped off the meet in impressive fashion by recording their highest Team Event score in program history with 83.15 points, bringing their final total to 233.900
