EAST STROUDSBURG – Holding a 7-4 lead at halftime, No. 13 Pace scored six consecutive goals to build a 13-5 lead, enroute to a 16-6 win over the No. 1 East Stroudsburg University lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon at Whitenight Field.
The Warriors (1-1) look get back to its winning ways in a neural-site battle against Frostburg State on Thursday. The Setters improve to 2-0 on the season with the win.
ESU was led in scoring by 
Emily Mitarotonda, who posted there goals. 
Jolee Roth added a pair of goals, while 
Campbell Heller also found the back of the net for the Warriors. 
Kiki Fitzpatrick tallied assists on three goals, while defender 
Maggie Sell tallied an assist, along with 
Madison Bagatta.
Notables
	- Pace was able to maintain possession, earning 16 draw controls compared to 10 from ESU. The Warriors struggled to connect passes on the offensive end, committing 27 turnovers on the afternoon. Pace gave up possession just 15 times.
 
	- ESU GK Riley DiFiore made an impressive 15 saves in net, registering the most saves since she posted 18 against Messiah on April 7, 2021 when she was at York. She also scooped six ground balls.
 
	- Reigning PSAC East Defender of the Week, Maggie Sell, was a vacuum, scooping nine ground balls and tallied four turnovers for the second consecutive contest. Taylor Vara caused a pair of turnovers and scooped four ground balls.
 
	- The Setters were led by Angelina Porcello, who tallied five goals and an assist, while Jollie Urraro connected on four goals and a pair of assist. Sydney Juvelier added a hat-trick and two assists for five points, Emma Rafferty tallied three points on two goals and an assist.
 
	- Pace led in shots, shots on goals, draw controls, cleared possession on 16-of-17 opportunities and led 9-2 on free position shots.
 
How It Happened
	- In the first quarter, Pace took an early lead with Urraro scoring the first two goals of the game at the 12:33 and 9:56 mark. ESU fought back with back-to-back goals from Heller and Roth to level the score at 2-2. However, Pace regained the lead with Rafferty and Corretjer finding the back of the cage each, to end the quarter with a 5-2 lead.
 
	- In the second quarter, ESU started strong with Mitarotonda ending the three-goal spree with her first goal of the contests at the 13:54 mark to reduce the deficit to 5-3. Pace's Porcello countered with two goals to extend the Setter lead to 7-3. Mitarotonda scored her her second goal of the match next with 1:35 left, as Pace held a 7-4 lead after 30 minutes of play.
 
	- The third quarter saw Pace take control. A 6-0 run proved to be the difference in the contest, with two goals each from Porcello, Urraro, and Juavelier, extended the Setter lead to 13-4 entering the fourth frame. Mitarotonda ended the spree and picked up the hat-trick performance after depositing a feed from Fitzpatrick. Down eight goals with under 11 minutes to play, Pace recorded three of the final four goals for the final score of 16-6.
