HONOLULU, HI – On the early hours of Monday morning, the East Stroudsburg University acrobatics and tumbling team dropped their season-opener to ninth-ranked Hawaii Pacific, 262.660-224.005 at The Shark Tank.
The Warriors, who recorded their highest point total in program history, opened their 2023 campaign 0-1 while the Sharks improve to 1-0.
How it Happened
- The Warriors kicked off the meet with a 29.75 in the Compulsory, which included a 9.40 in the Pyramid Heat
- ESU totaled a 19.75 in the Acro portion of the event, recording a 7.50 in the 5 Element and 7.35 in the 7 Element
- The Warriors went into the halftime with 77.30 points after notching 27.80 points out of 29.00 in the Pyramid. ESU had scored a 9.30 in the Inversion, 9.05 in Synchronized and 9.45 in the Open
- Following the break, the Warriors recorded 25.20 in the Toss with scores of 8.70 (450 Salto), 8.00 (Synchronized) and 8.50 (Open)
- In the Tumbling Event, ESU posted scores of 8.100 (Duo Pass), 6.400 (Trio Pass), 6.650 (Quad Pass), 8.425 (Aerial Pass), 7.275 (6 Element Pass) and 8.175 (Open Pass)
- With a start value of 97.85 in the Team Event, ESU capped off the meet with a 76.48 to bring their total score to 224.005
