LEWISBURG – The East Stroudsburg University women's track and field team returned for day two of the Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by Bucknell on Saturday at Christy Matthewson-Memorial Stadium.
Zionette Salahuddin recorded her second PSAC automatic qualifying mark of the outdoor season, this time in the discus with a personal-best throw of 39.17m (128-6).
Heptathlon Highlights
Representing the Warriors in the heptathlon (blue), Elyssa Pemu recorded a 12th place finish after recording a personal-best 3639 points.
Pemu got the event underway on Friday with the 100m hurdles, notching a 13th place finish with a time of 17.12.
Moving to the high jump, Pemu was the runner-up in the event, just missing the conference qualifying height at 1.54m (5-0 ½).
In the shot put, the junior rounded out the top-10 with a throw of 8.99m (29-6). Pemu finished the first day of competition with a 12th place finish in the 200m after clocking a time of 28.42 and was 11th in the standings with 2311 points.
Returning to the sand pit for the long jump, Pemu posted a ninth place finish with a leap of 4.37m (14-4).
In the javelin, Pemu took 10th place after throwing 23.71m (70-1) on her final attempt.
Pemu concluded the heptathlon in the 800m, notching a sixth place finish with a time of 2:41.77.
Field Event Highlights
On her way to hitting a conference automatic qualifying mark in the discus, Salahuddin took 17th in the event with a personal-best effort.
