EAST STROUDSBURG – The jam-packed offseason continues for East Stroudsburg University men's basketball forward Carlos Pepin, who was drafted with the seventh overall selection in the first round to Indios SFM of Liga Nacional de Baloncesto, the highest professional level of basketball in the Dominican Republic.
Pepin earned All-PSAC East First Team honors the past two seasons, along with collecting NABC All-Region First Team honors.
This past week, the Lodi, N.J. native was selected to the ESU Elite Eight.
A two-time All-PSAC East First Team selection, Pepin ranked ninth in the country in double-doubles with 14 on the season, leading the Warriors in both scoring (17.4 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg) as ESU earned a berth into the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history.
This season, Pepin's 587 points ranks sixth most in a single season (most since Jonathan Roberts' season record of 689 in 1989-90). His 287 rebounds rank eighth among Warriors in a single season, with his output being the highest since the all-time leading rebounder Roberts posted 332 in 1989-90.
Since his final game as a Warrior on March 11th in the NCAA Tournament, Pepin has completed in both the NABC Division II All-Star Game and the King's Hawaiian Dunk Contest. He signed with agent Mario Scotti of Two Points Basketball earlier this week.
Pepin and 2022 runner-up Indios SFM open the season on May 9 against the LNB defending champion Leones de Santo Domingo.
