BETHLEHEM – The East Stroudsburg University women's track and field team concluded competition at the Lehigh's Covert Classic on Saturday at the Goodman Track and Field Complex.
Track
The Warriors opened up the day in the 3000m steeplechase with Megan Elgrim taking third after clocking a personal-best time of 12:06.90.
In the 100m hurdles, Jeanette Jones finished as the runner-up after crossing the line in 15.00. Jones returned for the 400m hurdles, capturing a first-place finish with a time of 1:02.51.
Destiny Thompson took first place in the 100m dash after clocking a time of 12.37.
Field
In the shot put, Elizabeth Makar took first place after extending her NCAA provisional mark with a toss of 14.29m (46-10 ¾) and Isabella Marte rounded out the top-10 with a season-best throw of 10.75m (35-3 ¼).
Nickolina Annelli secured a third place finish in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 3.50m (11-5 ¾), while Heather Gaughran took eighth with a height of 3.35m (10-11 ¾).
Kamya Edmonds posted a fifth a place finish in the long jump after recording a leap of 5.27m (17-3 ½). Edmonds was back in the sand pit for the triple jump as the Reading native finished sixth with a leap of 10.78m (35-4 ½) on her third attempt.
In the discus, Zionette Salahuddin took seventh with a personal-best and seventh furthest throw in school history at 39.72m (130-4).
On Friday in the hammer throw, Makar claimed the top spot at 51.26m (168-2), followed by Marte in fourth place at 47.14m (154-8), Salahuddin in fifth with a throw of 46.62m (152-11) and Samiyah Little in seventh at 45.73m (150-0).
